How to keep up with my Spanish this summer?

☺Ķуłĭę☻ asked:

Hi everyone!I am in Spanish I(for the second time. It’s a long story but basically in my old school I had taken Spanish I already and then the next year I went to a different school and had to take Spanish I AGAIN so my Spanish teacher and I do advanced Spanish by writing in a journal back and forth and we have lessons during the week etc.)ANYWAYS,I want to be a language interpreter and so I want to keep on top with my Spanish and learn some new material but there are no summer Spanish classes at this school unless you fail(I have a 100 average though so I don’t think that will happen XD).So,how can I keep building my Spanish skills over the summer?I don’t know anyone who speaks Spanish,my family is all German,so I can’t really speak with anyone at home in Spanish.

PLEASE do not say any kind of website or something like “Rosetta Stone”.

I was thinking maybe I should keep a journal and only write in Spanish?Any other ideas?

MUCHAS gracias :) .¡Adios!
Es un MUY buena idea Ella, pero yo tengo solo trece anos y no se de muchas programas de cambio para adolescentes de trece anos.

Listen to Spanish radio! Ideally you’d do this for about ten minutes a day, every day, but who’s gonna keep to such a rigid schedule in the summer? Just do it when you can, even if it’s just once a week. Even if you can’t understand everything they’re saying, try and at last understand the topic. So ask yourself if they’re they talking about the economy, pop music or health and try and pick out key words.

Here’s a good link to start with, but you can always try finding more:

Know anyone who speaks spanish where you live?
Interacting with people who are native to the language that you are learning is helpful.
Or get a pen-pal visit places where you can interact with native spanish people although I think your parents won’t let you because your still young but any of the things that were suggested above me are also good ideas
Although I do advise strongly on interacting with people

Te deseo lo mejor de las suertes. No te des por vencida. Si lo deseas lo podras lograr

    good luck
