Yeah, you’re right. It takes immersion to learn the language. You can’t just sit down, watch TV and hope that “somehow” the language will ‘get itself’ into your head! Instead, you need to actually focus on the LANGUAGE not on the MOVIE.

You can try some great software apps that will help you learn Spanish in fastest way possible..I personally tried them and they worked. For example, take a look at this one:

You don’t definitely want to learn the language as a child as it takes 4 to 6 years =) There are much faster methods you can take like the one I mentioned.

Watching Spanish TV is good when you already know Spanish..it is a way of “testing” yourself to see how well you understand the world after you have taken your lessons and can be valuable tool.

What I did when I was studying Spanish was I would buy a DVD of a TV series that had options for dubbing and subtitles. I would watch the show in Spanish with English subtitles, then in Spanish with Spanish subtitiles and finally in Spanish with no subtitles. Eventually you can figure out the lines without the subtitles.

I also would listen to spanish music and download the lyrics and translate them. Then I would learn to sing the songs.

the best thing to do is to watch movies in spanish subtitles so you can take spanish writing along with english :]]

these days its possible to learn spanish almost everywhere you go.

i think you can learn the basics but you would have to go 2 classes 2 learn the correct using of verbs nouns and all that stuff

well maybe if you pop out a spanish/english dictionary and find out what there saying
