I am from the UK and live in Spain. I have been going out with my girlfriend now for 3 years she is Spanish, we do not live together. I have gone to the UK for three weeks and my girlfriend has stayed in Spain.

She has barely talked to me properly so far and this is week 2 of my 3 weeks away. When i say barely 3 phone calls from her to me and very little time on instant messaging. When I say i want to talk to her she says ‘we have been together so long we have nothing to talk about’.

She half ignores me when i try to talk to her via instant messaging as she is watching tv, youtube or browsing the internet. She has never dedicated any time while I have been away to properly sit down and talk to me even for 20 minutes.

Has anyone had any experience of this them happening to them? If so what does it mean / what did you do?

Should I keep distant and not make myself easily available to her till (not going online on IM and not calling her) Until I get back to Spain and then have a mature conversation with her about how I feel face to face? I feel i may be being a doormat for her.

She still tells me she loves me and leaves messages through facebook every few days. Her emails to me however are nearly all to do with things in Spain such as my flat/spanish lessons not anything else. Her emails are sometimes layed out like business emails with ‘Kind Regards / Thanks’ replaced with ‘I love you’ xD
