Affective methods of learning spanish for intermediate beginners?

Mark asked:

I studied spanish for a few years in high school and took 2 or 3 classes in college. I have also completed the first 3 lessons of Rosetta Stone and am now wondering what to do next because I am far from fluent. Are there any good books or other methods that can help me expand my knowledge of the language? I dont want to go back to school yet and moving to a spanish speaking region is not an option…

Learning Spanish Language

Since I took a couple of years of Spanish in school years ago, can I still use the ‘Rosetta Stone’ method?

Fatdude427 asked:

I took several years of Spanish, spanning from Middle school all the way to college. But the problem was that I was a Dillmunch. I didn’t take the lessons seriously, and I flunked out many times. I got to the second year of Spanish in college…but again, I lost interest.

I understand that the ‘Rosetta Stone’ lessons/videos and so forth teach your brain to ‘think in another language.’

So I was just wondering, if I wanted to learn to speak and write fluent Spanish, could I use the Rosetta Stone materials, since I already took some Spanish courses in school years ago?

How much does this thing cost?

How long does it take to learn a language?

Thanks, dudes!

Learn Spanish Program

recommendation Spanish language computer program?

soyyo815 asked:

I’m hoping to hear your recommendations for a Spanish computer program. We were using the Rosetta Stone through the public library which is no longer available. I’m sure we could find it through another library, but we’d like to change programs as he went through all the lessons. We speak Spanish in the house and I’ve looked into several local classes, but I’d like to find a program to keep his ear in the language and continue to expand his vocabulary. He really enjoyed the Rosetta Stone. It was the first thing he did every morning and he reminds me daily to look for a replacement. I know they have several at the electronics stores, but it’s difficult to know from the outside of the package. If someone knows of one that has good speak recognition allowing him to participate in conversation, that would be great as he’s just gaining courage to speak. Thanks much for your input.
